1963 Jaguar Mark X (Ten)
I bought this
car for $500, drove it for 185 miles, and sold it for $1000. I only added
a fuel
pump and
spark plugs. Enough oil leaked out of the rear main seal to fog the interior
after a half hour or so. Then there was the challenge of keeping brake fluid
in it, with the rear lines leaking badly. At the time, a low mileage car
in #1 condition was worth $5700. I could see easily triple that in work that
had
to be done, so I had to sell it. (Note kid in diapers) It was a cool cruiser
though.
It would really slalom in a parking lot, even as big as it was. It has
the same engine and chassis as an E type (series 1) but a lot more weight.
